MacdonaldStrand

MacDonaldStrand are the collaborative partnership of Clare Strand and Gordon MacDonald. They are based in Brighton, UK. Their joint practice centres on Institutional Critique, producing work that responds to photographic history, politics, and the conventions of image-making itself. Across their work, MacDonaldStrand intend to destabilise photographic authority, often using cynicism, humour and profanity to reveal how images construct and are constructed by systems of power.
